Before the X Factor, Andy Abraham worked as a refuse
collector and bus driver in London. During the X Factor Andy’s soulful
sound was a big hit with the judges and the viewing public so much so
that he only narrowly lost to Shayne Ward in the grand final.
Andy grew up surrounded by music, his biggest musically influence was
his mother. She had a wide musically taste that included country music,
reggae, soul, jazz and more. This not only shaped Andy’s musically
taste from a very young age, but it also made him aware that he had a
natural ability for singing.
Andy developed his singing ability by entering singing competitions in
and around London. It was the tragic death of a friend in 1998 that
gave Andy the inspiration to seriously pursue a music career. He
decided to enrol into a music college after quitting his job as a
printer.
After the X Factor Andy released three albums into the album charts and
toured around the UK performing in various venues including the
prestigious Royal Albert Hall.
