Olly Murs, an Energy Adviser from Essex wowed the
judges and audience at his first audition with a sensationally
rendition of the Steve Wonder classic ‘Superstition’.
With great stage presence and funky dance moves, Simon said he was cool
and current and like most of the judges, tipped Olli to win the show
after the first auditions were completed.
Olly made his television debut not on the X Factor, but on the Channel
4 hit TV series Deal or No Deal hosted by Noel Edmonds. On Deal or No
Deal, Olly won ten pounds after swapping the box he selected at the
start of the show that contained one thousand pounds.
Like a lot of men up and down the country, cheeky chappy Essex boy Olly
has a great love for football. In school he was the start striker of
the school’s football team. He also played at a semi-professional level
for Witham Town.
For Olly, The X factor is a dream come true. He was delighted when he
realised Simon Cowell was to be his mentor. He said he felt lucky to be
in the competition and be able to perform in front of millions of
people. This is something he would never take for granted.
