Born in Knoxville, TN, Didi Benami got her interest in music
from her mother. Her real name is Vered Benami but was given the nick
name Didi by her sister. Didi broke down during her Idol audition in
Los Angeles because she dedicated her performance to a friend that
passed away four years earlier. She considers herself a country/pop
singer and plays the guitar.
Randy: Yo–Rolling Stones, one of the greatest bands in
history– you picked Playing With Fire and I think for the first time in
weeks -YOU were on Fire tonight!- That was one of your best
performances in a long time.
Ellen: You have an amazing voice, i love that you lost your
way and even though it could spin you out you didn’t let it. I though
you sounded great.
Kara: Sometimes when you push on your vocals you lose your way
a bit but tonight I saw an intensity you attacked the song with and
there’s something very compelling about the sweetness of your voice and
the intensity you brought. So for me it’s two steps in the right
direction. Very well done.
Simon: Ya know what I agree with what everybody said tonight.
I like how you’re showing what kind of artist you’re going to be and
I’ve been a fan of yours for the last two weeks. It was another solid,
not brilliant performance. I think you can still do better then that.
Randy: Liked the idea better than the execution, but "you
never
quite hit the pitch right."
Ellen: I did not get the song choices tonight.
Kara: I felt you were playing a character. ... It felt like
you're trying to be something that you aren't.
Simon Cowell: There was a certain irony to your screeching out
'You're no good, you're no good, you're no good,' over and over again,"
Simon says. "It didn't sound like it was you." He compares her to Lacey
Brown. "It sucked the life out of you, a little bit.
